Faced with the pressures that threaten the financial sustainability of the health systems in our region, among which technological pressure stands out, Minister Alejandro Gaviria has been emphasizing the importance of sharpening the ability to discern between health technologies that add value and those that do not, as well as to implement a critical evaluation of the new against what already exists, in order to determine what is incorporated to be the object of public financing and how much is paid for it. This perspective has motivated several policies and initiatives in Colombia that are already beginning to show their fruits and that the Ministry of Health will share with Red Criteria.
