Claudia Vaca, advisor to the Ministry of Health on Pharmaceutical Policy, presents an analysis of one of the health benefit plans with the longest history in the region: the Colombian POS. The main challenges and lessons derived from 20 years of experience are analyzed and the challenges that Colombia will have to face within a new context where there will no longer be an explicit benefits plan accompanied by a positive list of covered technologies are discussed.
