Panos Kanavos, presents a comparative analysis of pharmaceutical procurement policies from an international perspective, focusing on procurement in in-patent medicines and procurement in off-patent medicines. The tools Panos will discuss include HTA, value assessment, risk-sharing agreements (for in-patent drugs); and internal reference pricing, tendering and other performance indicators (for off-patent drugs). Evidence of performance of these tools will also be presented.
