In the sixth webinar of the series of public policy dialogues on COVID, the Institute for Health Statistics and Evaluation (IHME) presented us with the model developed on COVID-19 for Latin America and its projections and implications for the region.

IHME is an independent population health research center at the University of Washington in Seattle that provides rigorous and comparable measurements of the world's major health problems and evaluates the strategies used to address them. The center distributes its information free of charge so that policymakers have the evidence they need to make informed decisions about how to allocate resources to improve population health.

IHME has been regularly producing updated forecasts and projections using this model to cover selected countries in the Latin American region.
