Based on the book “Strengthening Health System Governance. Better policies, stronger performance” published by the European Observatory of Health Systems and Policies, Dr. Josep Figueras will present a conceptual framework to evaluate and strengthen the governance of the health system in which five key aspects are highlighted  such as the transparency; Pay accounts; participation, organizational integrity, and the capacity to formulate and implement policies. In addition, some of the valuable learning that the book collects from eight case studies from different regions of Europe will be presented and will surely arouse the interest of those responsible for formulating health policies and of all those who work or study in the areas public health, health research, or health economics.
