In the field of primary health care (PHC), the evaluation of health technologies (ETES) is a key tool for the management and formulation of actions that achieve a positive impact on the health system. In addition, the ETES are a source of evidence for public and private actors, which help to nurture the technical and political decision-making processes.

However, in the field of PHC there are still great challenges, particularly those related to the scarcity of quantitative research, with robust methodologies and national data on certain technologies, as well as cost-effectiveness studies of programs and other technologies different from those medicines.

Luciana Leão will present this context and its challenges based on the case of Brazil.
