Uruguay, in its quest to achieve universal health coverage, consolidated its prioritization process in 2018 with the creation of a multi-criteria instrument to include health technologies in the Comprehensive Health Care Plan (PIAS) that users of the System will receive Comprehensive National Health (SNIS).
One of the greatest innovations of this instrument is that it incorporated the opinions of the various actors involved in the life cycle of health technologies, from their origins in the research phase to the monitoring of the final results.
