The challenges in prioritizing resources are not only evident in the allocation of ventilators, protective equipment, and vaccines, but also extend to decisions on non-therapeutic interventions to contain COVID-19, the distribution of human resources, and within the health sector and, even, to the distribution of resources between the health sector and other sectors, such as social or economic protection. In this webinar, Catalina Gutiérrez presents the different areas in which explicit prioritization plays a central role in the context of the pandemic, the particularities that evidence-based decision-making implies in these times of crisis, and shares some recommendations that emerge from experience on how to best allocate scarce resources in public health crisis situations.
