Several countries today face the use of judicial mechanisms so that citizens can access health services. Everaldo Lamprea will present an article that analyzes the trajectory of the judicialization of health care from the perspective of the countries of the South. It will show how the rise of health rights litigation in the 1990s and early 2000s was reinforced by the global spread of the HIV/AIDS epidemic and by constitutional reforms that sparked a period of rights revolutions. Consequently, today countries have to face the challenge of seeking new approaches to the right to health in order to restore litigation as mechanisms to promote more equitable and sustainable health systems.
